Predictions for this weekend Intermediate Annaduff v Bornacoola Annaduff is approaching full strength and should be too strong for Bornacoola. Annaduff by 7 Melvin Gaels v Carrigallen Both teams had impressive wins last week. It's a long trip for Carrigallen, and the home advantage is huge. Melvin Gaels by 6 Gortletteragh v Aughavas Injuries have affected Gortletteragh's momentum. A fully fit Aughavas team made Annaduff work hard for their win last week. Home advantage and the big pitch might help edge it for Gortletteragh. Gortletteragh by 2 Dromahair v Drumkeerin Back to the terrible pitch and facilties at St Osnat's. No showers, toilets, ring fences, or disabled access. It's not good enough. Both teams had a disappointing result last week. Drumkeerin is missing a few players, and that might be crucial. Dromahair by 3 Junior A Kiltubrid v Aughnasheelin Possibly the game of the weekend. Kiltubrid by 2 Drumreilly v Glenfarne Drumreilly has had a great start to the Junior Championship and should be too strong. Drumreilly by 6 Cloone v Ballinaglera Cloone was very poor against Ballinamore's 2nd string when losing by 12 points. Ballinaglera should take this. Ballinaglera by 5 St Mary's B v Eslin Despite putting in good performances against Kiltubrid and Aughnasheelin, Eslin remains pointless. Victory against St Mary's 2nd string won't be easy, though. Predictions for this weekend Intermediate Annaduff v Bornacoola Duff have a much stronger panel, once they keep the few decent Bors players under tabs, they will win this quite easily. Annaduff by 12 Melvin Gaels v Carrigallen hard to know where either of these teams are at, both had terrible first days out and much improved on their second outings. Its gonna be tight A draw Gortletteragh v Aughavas Aughavas play in fits and starts, score heavy when on top and the exact opposite when under the gosh. Gortlettragh should have enough Gortletteragh by 4 Dromahair v Drumkeerin two incredibly frustrating teams, either very good or very bad, no in between. I just think drumkeerin are a slightly more balanced side. This derby will be spicy. As already mentioned in previous post, clubs are training hard to be ready for championship and they get fired off to osnatts for championships games, dressing rooms (a cabin) can only fit 10/12 lads, no toilets, no showers, etc, not good enough Dromkeerin by 6 Junior A Kiltubrid v Aughnasheelin Big games for both teams. Make sense of this, my prediction is for kiltubrid to win this game but aughnasheelin to win the championship. Kiltubrid will do a kiltubrid on it, play well until the big day, then bottle it Kiltubrid by 2 Drumreilly v Glenfarne Drumreilly should win this comfortably. Drumreilly by 10 Cloone v Ballinaglera Cloone seem to have gone well back and not blessed with numbers currently, the same can be said for Glera. Glera should be close to winning this championship but the same problems persist im afraid, disciplne being the key one Ballinaglera by 9 St Mary's B v Eslin Eslin a dogged outfit, what they lack in quality they make up for in heart. Lot of rain falling thanks so much. I'd fear for some of the games in neighbouring counties with heavier soil that they may have to be postponed so millions. Annaduff played most of the game with 14 mens thanks so much and still should have won the thing. Ominous I feel. Bornacoola must be frustrated that they could not beat a below par Annaduff who had a man less for most of the game. Relegation form for me. A great performance from bornacoola when they needed something to have a chance of making the quarters and they nearly did it, but Annaduff still the better team and were cruising until the red card, going by twitter. Junior A: Cloone 0-15 Ballinaglera 0-14 Fantastic result for Cloone after no wins out of ten in the league and losing their first championship game to Ballinamore's second team. A great boost for a proud club whose numbers have been low very lately. Hopefully this will spur them on to be competitive for the remainder of the championship and to give a good account of themselves. The champions of 2021 (Ballinamore), 2022 (Carrick) and 2023 (Mohill) all lost by two points. Carrick did enjoy a win, albeit Carrick beat St Kiernan's of London. So that's competitive. I was in Mohill on business last Saturday and caught the last 15 mins of the latest instalment of the battle of Dromod between Annadurf and Bornacooler. Suffice to say neither one will be winning trophies on the basis of this game and indeed Bornacoller look doomed to the ranks of junior football. Annaduff got a black card in addition to the red and was actually down to 13 players for the last 10 minutes. Annaduff was up 7 points before the sending off, which happened after about 15 minutes in the 1st half. The return of Damien Moran, Shane Mallon, and Jonny Boyle was huge for Bornacoola. Bornacoola should have won, but a draw gives them a real chance. In order to avoid the relegation final, they need to beat Dromahair in their last game and hope their beloved neighbours, Annaduff, beat Drumkeerin. A firm no on that my friend Annaduff will win the intermediate and Drumkeerin will be their nearest challengers just in case im not back on for a while.............. Fenagh havent played yet really and hard to know of the rest. Melvin will win Inter you'd think if Rooney comes back from shoulder injury, Drumkeerin could be under pressure to make the quarters. Anaduff Melvin Final. Kiltubrid for junior they made minced meat of Aughnasheelin last weekend it was a 3 point hammering, there a huge team well drilled. However I do think Drumreilly's physicality might test them there going very well do and have a point to prove after letting last year go through their fingers.
