Our midfield problem is extremely easily fixed. GB moves on and David McCague gets the job, the first thing he does is get Big McPhillips back into the Monaghan team alongside McCarville. The next job to add some depth is get Andrew woods fit, he has the size, fielding ability and an excellent kick passer of the ball, the only reason he's not lining out in the middle is his lack of fitness. Matthew Carolan to be the apprentice for the 2027 season with the hopes of replacing/pushing one of them men out of the team when he develops."]Would you rather Gary Mohan or Andrew woods midfield. Gary has been exceptional for Monaghan last few seasons and young woods was very impressive this year. GaaMonaghanFan11111 (Monaghan) - Posts: 11 - 20/08/2026 16:07:20 2690653 Link 0 |

Truagh were missing Ronan Boyle, Louis Kelly and Gary Mohan… To use Scotstown as a benchmark, all 3 of those Truagh lads comfortably start for Scotstown seniors. The Castleblayney lads you mentioned don't get near the Scotstown senior setup. Good players in fairness though, and would definitely bolster Scotstown's chances of winning a Junior Championship.

Both possibilities in the future. Jones is great for calling marks too monaghanmad4567 (Monaghan) - Posts: 61 - 20/08/2026 16:10:43 2690655 Link 0 |

Rory Beggan slowing down a bit.. Could Eoghan Treanor be a reliable option in the near future? Swinging 2-pointers for fun, hearing alot of praise for him around Emyvale. All that time spent with Shane Walsh, something seems to be rubbing off.... TruaghGaell (Monaghan) - Posts: 28 - 20/08/2026 16:30:27 2690663 Link 1 |

Are you mad. The man has played 3 games in 3 years. For the county that ship has long sailed. May in time be an option for the Seans.

All these troll accounts on here now is very disappointing , we seem to have lost some great men from this forum, I remember having great debates with kileevan men last year for instance I hope they are enjoying watching their team now as they took a lot of flack last year for praising them Gaels1989 (Monaghan) - Posts: 82 - 20/08/2026 22:38:01 2690697 Link 1 |

I'd much rather him getting on the ball more than Mohan who is very prone to making the wrong pass/decision. That being said, freeing Mohan up to focus on being an inside forward should add another element to our attack. MonaghanMan44life (Monaghan) - Posts: 265 - 20/08/2026 23:08:45 2690698 Link 0 |

Can't see Truagh overcoming the Scotstown challenge. Not this year anyway. However a few big test for Truagh coming up after their bye. I've been very impressed with McKenna for Truagh a quality footballer.
