I know he probably won't get an All Star but I thought Oisin Conaty was outstanding and electric all year for Armagh, scored something like 1-25 from play in 7 Championship games which is good going. Kilpatrick thought had a great year for Tyrone as well, while Darren McCurry had some great cameo appearances off the bench for them as well. But overall your team looks fairly decent enough tbh.

Unfortunately Donegal flopped after the National League final. McGee and Langan maybe a bit unlucky but don't see them shown in other selections either.

Beggan all day every day for keeper for me. Murphy isn't even close to beggan's standard. Louth completely dodged a bullet with beggan being injured.

Nah! Only the league...The top teams, as you found out, were only motoring in second gear for the league. We had a higher standard of football afterwards in the Tailteann Cup, never mind the championship.

Most of that logic went out the window in the final 1. Shane Murphy 2. Jack Coyne 3. Jason Foley 4. Enda Hession 5. Dara McDonnell 6. David McBrien 7. Ronan Wallace 8. Conn Kilpatrick 9. Jack Carney 10. Paudie Clifford 11. Ryan O Donoghue 12. Niall Scully 13. Darragh Bierne 14. David Clifford 15. Kobe McDonald All Ireland champions = 7 All Ireland R-up = 4 Best losing semi finalist = 1 Other losing semi finalist = 1 Token non semi finalist = 1 Team with unexpected run = 1 tirawleybaron (Mayo) - Posts: 2045 - 28/07/2026 11:41:26 2687730 Link 0 |

Diarmuid Murtagh was outstanding in the National League and also in the championship. I presume you missed the game or had left the stadium when he scored 1-10 against Mayo in Castlebar in the Connacht championship. He was deadly with any possession he received practically all year but unfortunately none was coming in to him against Monaghan as they were totally on top out the field. (Not all his fault) Kobe had a great year but Mayo would have won easily if he had not taken a few bad options in the final or missed a few clear-cut scores. When Mark McHugh was announcing the team of the year Diarmuid Murtagh was the first player he mentioned as being very unlucky. I do not think that it was daft statement at all and I do not think Mark McHugh is daft either as David Clifford was always going to be selected in the full forward line. letsgetgoing (Roscommon) - Posts: 948 - 28/07/2026 14:32:46 2687800 Link 1 |
