The Rule I quoted refers specifically to home venues for all Senior Inter County Championship games.

Pray tell what Senior Inter County Championship games that Ardee met these criteria for earlier in the year?

Or indeed, what Senior Inter County Championship games has that venue ever met the criteria for?

All season ticket holders catered for.
Believe we have around 3.5k (got my tickets this morning). Heard Louth have 800, no clue how accurate that number is for Louth. County board got some. Sponsors will get theirs. No further sale in Armagh the clubs have been told so presume whatever is left will go to Louth clubs.

Ardee isn't allowed to host championship games due to the grass bank. Same as Drogheda.

The Westmeath manager was talking about the advantage the league qualifiers had being able to focus on their Round 1 opponent who were preoccupied with a provincial final. Step 1 is acknowledging the flaw. Step 2 is a suitable solution. It seems the solution will be some rearranging of chairs.

Sunday 14th June:

13:00 - Louth vs Armagh 2A (RTÉ)
14:00 - Galway vs Westmeath 2A (GAA+)
14:00 - Cavan vs Dublin 2B (No TV)
15:30 - Tyrone vs Mayo 2A (RTÉ)


Donegal v Cork, Kildare v Kerry and Cavan v Dublin are the only three games that won't be televised.
Theyve been cute for once with times so any ET doesnt run into next televised game on those stations.

Obviously I'd have loved Donegal v Cork for TV but Highland or Ocean FM it is.

I'm not sure how they make these decisions but you would be thinking it may be to do with getting crowds out. Dublin support is down and they don't always travel. Put it on TV they definitely have a good reason for not going even to Cavan. Cork Donegal, bit of a journey involved there and to be fair to the Cork team it's a long drive for supporters and a TV option means Cork fans might not go the journey so team support could be down. Kildare and Kerry … sorry my theory doesn't hold.

Donegal v Cork tickets sold out in few hours so your reasoning above re that game holds no water.

Round 1 draw musing...
If there had been a partial draw this year - Cavan, Louth, Derry and Mayo would have remained in the hat waiting for the Ulster and Leinster finals to be played out. They would have been watching the Munster and Connacht finals first in case they were going to be among the first 4 league qualifiers out of the hat. They'd have been be watching the Leinster and Ulster finals then as they'd know they'd be in line to draw one of those 4 finalists.

Ahead of next week...
After round 1 and the way the 2A draw played out - Donegal will be seeing a clear path to the semi finals. Armagh and Galway will be expecting to advance directly to the quarter finals. One of Galway and Armagh might be drawn in a heavy weight clash in the quarter finals.
