Hurling championship round 4 round up
Despite the down turn in weather conditions round 4 of the hurling championship brought large crowds to venues around the county
Round 4 of the Senior, Senior B, Intermediate and Intermedite B hurling championship is complete.
It's still all to play for in the race for the Jubilee Cup. Kilmessan are in pole position and are gauranteed a semi final spot. Two from Kiltale, holders Ratoath and Trim will fill the other knockout spots. Na Fianna are relegated to Senior B.
Last years IHC winners Kilskyre/Moylagh have booked their place in the Senior B decider. They will be joined by Dunderry, Killyon or Longwood. Blackhall Gaels will play Intermediate in 2027.
Rathmolyon are back in the IHC final. Drumree, Clann na nGael or Dunboyne will join them on county final day.

Sunday: A James Murray goal from a free earned Trim a share of the spoils in a highly entertaining Senior Hurling Championship clash at Dunganny. A Peter Durnin green flag and a point from Jack Regan gave Kiltale a four point lead with time running out. Murray pointed a free and soon after found the back of the Kiltale net before the full time whistle. Both teams finished with 14 players. Still all to play for with one round remaining. Kilmessan v Kildalkey, Trim v Ratoath and Kiltale v Na Fianna.
Favourites Kilskyre/Moylagh booked their place in the Senior B final after a comprehensive win over O’Mahony’s at Grangegodden. Last year’s IHC winners led 1-12 to 0-8 at the break. Dunderry took a big step towards the knockout stages with six points to spare over Longwood. Killyon boosted their chances of a semi final spot with a comfortable win over Blackhall Gaels at Kiltale. Killyon and Dunderry meet in the last group game.

Saturday: Ratoath bounced back from their round 3 defeat to Kilmessan with four points to spare over Kildalkey at Kiltale. The Jubilee Cup holders led 2-9 to 1-8 at the break, their goals coming from Podge O’Hanrahan and Bryan McMahon.
Rathmolyon are through to the Intermediate Hurling Championship final after their low scoring win over Donaghmore Ashbourne in very wet conditions at Lomans Park. Kevin Mulligan got the winners goal to give last years finalists a 1-6 to 0-7 half time lead.
Two late points from substitute Eamon O Donnachdha were crucial as Clann na nGael came from behind to beat Dunbyne at Trim. The Athboy Rathcairn outfit led 1-10 to 1-7 at the break.
Drumree moved into contention for a place in the semi finals with a comfortable win over Gaeil Colmcille.
In the Intermediate B Boardsmill recorded a big win over Kilmessan at Dunderry.

Friday: Kilmessan cemented their place at the top of the Senior Hurling Championship with nine points to spare over Na Fianna at Batterstown. Charlie Keenan’s men have seven points from their four outings and are three ahead of the chasing pack, Trim and Kiltale, who play each other on Sunday. Na Fianna’s troubles continued and they remain rooted at the bottom of the table. Seanie Doyle’s rich vein of form continued for the winners. The full forward top scored with ten points. Jack Cottrell got the games only goal and Kilmessan led 1-14 to 0-13 at the break.
In the Intermediate B Trim kept in touch with the leaders Wolfe Tones after the two finished level at Athboy. In finished all square also between holders Kildalkey and Kiltale.
