Eamonn Armstrong's return from St. Kildea is a massive boost to Duleek Bellewstown's IFC prospects

Sunday: Keegan Cup holders Summerhill are safely through as group winners with five points to spare over Rathkenny at Walterstown. With five minutes of normal time remaining The Hill held a minimum 0-17 to 1-13 lead. Dunboyne are safe after their win over Kilbride. Last years IFC winners will have to regroup for the relegation battle.
Dunshaughlin stunned Gaeil Colmcille with a quick fire 3-01 with ten minutes remaining in a pulsating battle at Dunganny. Richie Kealy’s men held on for a six point win and a place in the knockouts. Gaeil Colmcilles wait goes on. Donaghmore Ashbourne go through as group winners. Simonstown face the relegation battle.
The semi finals for the Junior B championship were also confirmed after today’s round 3 games. Kilmainham take on Boardsmill, Cortown will play Kilmainhamwood.

Saturday: After surviving a relegation final last year St. Colmcilles advance to the quarter finals with six points to spare over Ballinabrackey at Dunsany. The Bracks led 1-4 to 0-5 at the break. A goal from half forward Oisin Brennan with five minutes to go along with a couple of two pointers from Ben Brennan were crucial for the Seasiders. As expected Wolfe Tones made it three from three and qualify as Group C winners. The Tones led 0-14 to 2-4 at the break. The year is over for Ballinabrackey. Seneschalstown turn their attention to the relegation battle.
St. Pats were held to a draw by Longwood but they still qualify as group winners. They will be joined by Navan O’Mahonys in the last eight. It’s a relegation battle for Bective.
Clann na nGaels great championship formed continued with win number three and top spot in Group B. Walterstown will join them in the knockouts. Drumbaragh face the relegation semi final.
Curraha sent out a warning to all Peter McDermott Cup contenders when they brushed aside the challenge of Carnaross at Dunderry. The winners lost Jack O’Connor to an injury early in the second half and played without James McEntee. Gavin Coyle’s men join Ballinlough in the semi finals as group winners on score difference. Last year’s finalists St. Vincents take the quarter final route. St. Brigids have a relegation battle on their hands.

Friday: As expected favourites Ratoath made it three from three with six to spare over Na Fianna at Martry, Glenn Reilly with the winners goal who led 1-6 to 1-4 at the break. Trim will join them in the knockout stages after their 0-19 to 1-13 win over Skryne at Simonstown. Aaron Lynch gave an exhibition kicking 12 points. The winners led 0-10 to 1-5 at half time. Skryne’s year is over, Na Fianna turn their attention to the relegation play offs.
Meath Hill and Moynalvey advance from Group C of the Intermediate Football Championship. The 2024 Mattie McDonnell Cup winners qualify for the quarter finals as group winners.
Ballinlough are the first team through to the semi final. The North Meath side made it three from three in Group C with seven points to spare over Nobber in Moynalty. The Reds will be joined by Moylagh, on score difference, after their seven point victory over St. Mary’s. Nobber’s season is done while last years Junior B winners face a relegation battle.

Thursday: Welcome to the real championship. Floodlights, rain, soft underfoot conditions, slippy ball and loads of mistake. Round 3 got underway tonight in very poor conditions across four locations.
Oldcastle who had been flying up until tonight crashed out of the race for the Mattie McDonnell Cup. The North Meath side bowed out on a one point score difference. Duleek Bellewstown, with St. Kilda's Eamonn Armstrong in their ranks, advance to the last eight along with last year's finalists Castletown. A Darragh Kelly goal in the closing stages gave last year's finalists a six point win at Carnaross.
Dunderry put their dismal opening two rounds behind them to beat the form team in the Junior A, Slane at Cortown. It was a first defeat for Marty Barrett’s men but they along with St. Ultans advance to the knockout stages. Darren Fay’s men turned in another fine performance with goals from Charlie O'Brien, Tommy Buchanan and Luke Griffin, and five points from Tom Brennan, helping them see off a fancied Syddan side at Moynalty.
