Qualifiers

Ciaran Brady has definitely played his way back into the team in my opinion. I think we need to give some of the younger lads a chance now. Would Galligan be up to a start in midfield? He will be there in time but just wonder if he is ready now. Otherwise, I would agree with a lot of that team. We need to get some more scorers into our forward line. Hard to know how lads are training but we'll have to trust Mattie with that.

Anyone know what the story is with Rory Dunnes injury? Was it a hamstring?

I also like that team.

It also includes two quality free takers in Gearoid off his left foot and Caoimhin off his right.

?? possibly about the middle of the field and our ability to win our own kick outs without the likes of Martin Reilly in the team in his usual roving role.

There's no doubting Moynagh's ability to deliver a great pass from defence and chip in on the scoreboard but defensively if I am honest there are question marks.

Finally it is no longer about the fifteen starting players, it's also about your bench and arguably your team finishing up should be stronger than that which started so with the likes of Niall Murray, Moynagh/Martin Reilly and young Connolly/Johnston to name a few I think Cavan have at least 20 top players there. It's about building consistency,confidence and allowing that team to bed in together.

Hopefully we get a decent run in the qualifiers, stay pretty much injury free and who knows where it could bring us.

I don't think it's a matter of naming starting line-ups at this stage, it's a matter of tactics and style of play. How the players support each other and play as a team. how we get the ball in to scoring positions. I believe there are about 30 lads there that could all do a job against Offaly.

I believe that team would do very well. Speed and strength in abundance.

The tactics in the Monaghan game, particularly in the first half, did not work.
Should have gone all out in the first half with the wind.
Let's hope Mattie gets it right on Sunday.

Maybe Corr at midfield and a change in the right half-back position Sean.

I would start McLoughlin for sure nice to see Dillon as part of the 15, is Rory Dunne fit I saw him last week but I don't know if he is ready. I would put Mossy in the middle hard grafter great heart. Is the gunner gone out of favor ?? no room for J Hayes. Would you not start McDermott???

Ah I think Matin will start and I would not be surprised if Mossy starts as well. The question for me is where do you start K Clarke ?? I suppose they might give Farrelly a run. I expect at least six of that team named will not start then again who knows but I expect Cavan wish to get as far as they can long may they continue and will probably start what they feel are the best 15.

Will be tough to lift the heads but the very best of luck to the lads on Sunday evening. Hopefully get out of Tullamore with a win and no injuries.

If we do get to All Ireland Quarters we might have to beat Monaghan or Tyrone and then 50 50 chance of playing Dublin from what I can make out.

Funny enough for a man thato had trained in the weeks leading up to the game I thought Killian did fine and covered a lot of ground. Hoping that two lads are out with injury is what's wrong with the mentality of certain people on this.

I myself thought Clarke ran up blind alleys while trying to do too much. Time and time again he takes that extra yard where he should have laid the ball off. Count how many times he was turnovered or lost possession. A day on the sideline would do the team no harm whatsoever and also give him time to recover properly.
There is no need to rush him back. He can be done without this Sunday.
As for McEnroe I don't know what he did this year to deserve a place against Monaghan . He must have been flying in training because he didn't show much in the league.
I don't think this breaking at pace gamesuits him.
I'd far rather see S Murray in the halfback line with Moynagh on the other wing and Faulkner centre half.
Faulkner is a great reader of the game so should be a cert for centre back.
My point there is no need to rush players back from injury as we have a good panel and any one of the starting 15 that played against Monaghan can be done without going by their performance in that match alone.

Brilliant by Sean O Rinn. Personally it doesn't bother me but I hope the players don't get too upset by the groundsman's opinion, given how much importance is placed upon it.
